We were lucky to have pleasant weather on Easter Day. The children coloured eggs in the morning. After enjoying a puppet show, the children went egg hunting in the garden. They were so excited when they found eggs on the tree, under the fence and all over the garden! Some of them found lots of ‘baby eggs’ which were peanuts.

Later, during outside play, the children gathered round the vegetable bed which had been prepared by our gardener, Encik Din a few days before. There, the children sowed seeds and watered them. The big children helped Aunty Anny shell the eggs that they had found in the garden for lunch. After lunch, all the children helped to wrap the eggs and peanuts in glass paper to take home. The children truly enjoyed the day.

Nowadays, the children are busy making Mother’s Day wall cards and flowers for their mother. They will bring the cards and flowers home on 8th May [Friday]. We also would like to wish all mothers  ‘Happy Mother’s Day’.

We would like to share the joy of watching the children enjoy Nania’s well-planned organic food.  Some children who would not eat vegetables in the beginning have grown to love them.  Some children who are going away on holidays mentioned that they will miss the food served by Aunty Anny.

On Friday, 29th May 2015, we will be celebrating the Harvest Festival together. The children are now singing, reciting poems and dancing in preparation for that day. Festivals are a means for children to experience seasonal moods and meaningful focus. For the Harvest Festival, it is food. Food is important to all of us. Food comes from nature. We teach the children to be grateful to the sun, the rain, and the farmers for our food. The songs, poems and puppet story are chosen with that in mind.
